We Need Your Help
The Michigan Center Board of Education is looking into costs associated with replacing our current track and football field. Both of these areas are currently safety risks for our athletes. Every option is being explored from natural grass to synthetic turf. Please let us know your thoughts and feelings on this issue by emailing us at mcathletics@mcps.k12.mi.us

Financial Aid/Transition Night
There will be a Financial Aid/Transition Night on December 1, 2009 from 6:30-8pm for all Juniors and Seniors. Representatives from JCC, Baker, and Spring Arbor University will be here to meet with interested students.
Refreshments will be provided as well.
Please contact Mrs. Clement, with any questions (517-764-9114).
High School Yearbook Order Forms have been mailed.  Be on the lookout for yours.  If you don't get one by November 20th, please see Mrs. Van de Water for one.
H1N1 Clinic Cancelled
Due to a lack of vaccine and the uncertainty of when it will actually come in our Dec. 3 free clinic has been canceled. The hope is that enough vaccine will make it to Jackson County and we can reschedule. Stay tuned for further details. Until then please follow proper hand washing, coughing and sneezing procedures. We will continue to take extreme care in cleaning the entire district.

Perception Survey

  Where is Michigan Center?

The Michigan Center School District covers an area of approximately 24 square miles in mideast Jackson County. Michigan Center Lake and Round Lake comprise a chain of lakes that stretch for approximately ten (10) miles. Because of the proximity of these and other lakes, area residents are offered a multitude of recreational activities available during the four seasons.

Michigan Center is centrally located to various Michigan urban areas, such as Jackson, Lansing (40 miles), Ann Arbor (40 miles), Ypsilanti (45 miles) and Detroit (70 miles). These urban areas give area residents many activities that a major city or college community has to offer.

Education is important to the Michigan Center community as evidenced by the school's programs and facilities. The students of the school district are housed in five buildings; Jr/Sr High School (7-12), Arnold Elementary (K-2), Keicher Elementary Complex (3-4, Preschool/Child Care & Grades 5-6), Clement (Alternative Ed).
